Separate and Joint Continuity of Homomorphisms Defined on Topological Groups
In this paper we prove the following theorem. “Let H be a countably Čech–complete topological group, X be a topological space and (G, ·, τ) be a topological group. If f : H ×X → G is a separately continuous mapping with the property that for each x ∈ X, the mapping h 7→ f(h, x) is a group homomorphism, then for each q–point x0 ∈ X the mapping f is jointly continuous at each point of H ×{x0}.” W...
متن کاملMappings and decompositions of continuity on almost Lindelöf spaces
Among the various covering properties of topological spaces a lot of attention has been given to those covers which involve open and regularly open sets. In 1982 Balasubramanian [4] introduced and studied the notion of nearly Lindelöf spaces and in 1984 Willard and Dissanayake [21] gave the notion of almost Lindelöf spaces. Then in 1996 Cammaroto and Santoro [5] studied and gave further new res...
متن کاملContinuity as a Usability Property
In this paper, we describe continuity as an important property to reach usability in many emerging systems such as multimodal and virtual reality systems. The approach is based on synchronization and integration characteristics existent between entities involved in the domain.
متن کاملThe Complete Continuity Property in Banach Spaces
Let X be a complex Banach space. We show that the following are equivalent: (i) X has the complete continuity property, (ii) for every (or equivalently for some) 1 < p < ∞, for f ∈ h(D, X) and rn ↑ 1, the sequence frn is p-Pettis-Cauchy, where frn is defined by frn(t) = f(rne ) for t ∈ [0, 2π], (iii) for every (or equivalently for some) 1 < p < ∞, for every μ ∈ V (X), the bounded linear operato...
متن کاملOscillations, Quasi-oscillations and Joint Continuity
Parallel to the concept of quasi-separate continuity, we define a notion for quasi-oscillation of a mapping f : X × Y → R. We also introduce a topological game on X to approximate the oscillation of f . It follows that under suitable conditions, every quasi-separately continuous mapping f : X×Y → R has the Namioka property. An illuminating example is also given.
